Our story

Field Energy Services (FES) is a family-owned, dedicated, high-voltage service company committed to evolution, sustainability, and growth.

We recognised a gap in the market and a need for high-voltage services specialising in switchgear installation, maintenance, repair, and testing across Australia. In addition, we saw an opportunity to provide substation construction and commissioning services for the utilities, rail, and mining sectors throughout Australia.

And hence, FES was established in 2014 by Managing Director & Lead Technician, Dino Melosi, as a one-person team, with an innovative yet sustainable vision to grow and lead the way.

As the industry has evolved over the past 12 years, and the volume of projects investing in high-voltage and sustainable solutions has increased, FES has continued to evolve with it, fluidly adapting, growing, and leading the way as a trusted small business within the industry.

We maintain a strong focus on upskilling our technicians to continually increase capability, knowledge, and efficiency in our work practices, alongside ongoing investment in best-practice technology and testing equipment. We also believe strongly in investing in the next generation of Australian talent, providing young Australians with the opportunity, training, and practical experience to develop their skills and build meaningful careers within the high-voltage industry. By investing in our people, we are not only strengthening our own capabilities but also contributing to the future of the industry in Australia.

The people behind FES

Dino Melosi

Managing Director, Technical Advisor & Lead Technician

Dino Melosi, Owner and Lead Technician, heads the FES team onsite. With over 20 years of experience and specialised qualifications in the high-voltage industry, Dino has worked with major companies across the industry prior to establishing FES.

Dino’s strong work ethic comes from a long history of family businesses in both Italy and Australia, where from a young age he was shown the importance of hard work, dedication and pride in what you do.

Dino’s passion for the HV industry is evident in every aspect of how he operates the business. His passion and dedication are contagious, setting the standard for the team around him.

Dino and the FES team bring multiple capabilities to the industry, specialising in HV switchgear, connectors and disconnectors across three main areas: Substation Construction Services, Switchgear and Gas Services, including GIS/AIS from 6.6kV to 500kV, and Testing & Commissioning.

Paramount to Dino’s success is his ability to adapt to our customers’ needs, utilising a highly skilled team with expertise in switchgear, SF₆ gas recovery, gas handling and gas analysis. This commitment to closing the gap between customer requirements and industry capability is evident in the recent establishment of FES Gas Solutions, dedicated to SF₆ and other alternative gas services.

Dino is a genuine, hands-on leader in Australia’s high-voltage industry. His technical experience, practical approach and unwavering commitment to his customers and his team are at the heart of FES and the reputation it continues to build.

Melissa Zamudio

Chief Operating Officer

Melissa Zamudio, Chief Operating Officer, leads the FES team across its commercial, strategic, people and operational functions.

With more than 24 years of experience in corporate, operational, strategic and people leadership, Melissa brings extensive experience leading large-scale operations and teams of 400 to 2,000 employees across complex and highly industrial environments.

Prior to joining FES, Melissa held senior executive leadership roles across major organisations in media, energy and aviation industries. She has a proven track record in developing strategy, identifying opportunities, building high-performing teams and empowering people to deliver meaningful change and exceptional results.

At FES, Melissa manages the commercial and strategic direction of the business and works closely with clients and the internal team to plan and deliver projects successfully. Her experience in major projects and global business transformation has developed a strong ability to lead through complexity and pressure while maintaining a clear focus on people, performance and outcomes.

Melissa’s prior experience in the energy sector, with her time with Ausgrid, has further shaped her vision for FES and her understanding of the importance of reliable infrastructure and highly skilled people to Australia’s energy future.

Her vision is to continue to build FES as a specialist Australian business founded on technical expertise, strong leadership and a commitment to developing the next generation of Australian talent, delivering exceptional outcomes for clients while building capability for the future.

With Dino’s superior technical expertise, network and innovation, coupled with Mel’s experience and unapologetic desire to deliver the highest standard, they are a team of genuine passion and success.
